When we choose to brave the challenges of inner growth (while navigating the pressures of this fast--paced modern world), it calls for direct action and demands a powerful commitment of energy, time and resources. For any human, this is an enormous task in of itself and calls forth a great amount of courage. When it comes to being a sensitive soul however, the demands of this very mission can feel like an overwhelming nightmare.

As a sensitive soul, intuitively, it feels right to open our heart and to feel in our daily lives, however, the world is still operating at a more armoured and closed-off place and often misses the richness and depth of who we are as individuals. This leaves us feeling misunderstood, along with a myriad of lower emotive states, and often leads to us closing our hearts back up again. Even those closest to us can come up short in fully comprehending the vulnerable and sensitive expressions of our inner world and the ongoing challenges we face regarding sensory overload.

When sensitive people embark on an inner growth journey, most will begin with well-known personal development streams, and although this may work for some, the sensitive person can sometimes find themselves once again at the mercy of the modern world's speedy timeline. Coming at us with its sledge hammer of impatience and crushing us with its false projections of who we really are, this merciless and misinformed combination can blindly hammer open our closed shell before its organic unfolding and, oftentimes, add to the pain body and trauma we already carry. And, well, that's enough to turn anyone off mainstream personal development methods and run for cover!

As Empath expert Dr. Judith Orloff states: "Empaths and sensitive people are pioneers on the forefront of a new way of being for humankind".

As an Empath myself, I wholeheartedly agree with this statement. However, it does spark questions as to how we support these sensitive people, in a world that's base frequency is still humming at an edgy and wounded place? As most Empaths are birthed out of troubled family circumstances and/or traumatic life experiences, adequate support to facilitate their personal development is paramount. It is absolutely necessary in nourishing and flourishing these sensitive human beings beyond the constraints of their pain and into their potential.

Quite often they're told that they are "too sensitive" or other insensitive put-downs, when in actuality, they are sensing a whole other broader range of stimuli, which most are unaware of. In light of this, sensitive souls need to feel seen, heard and guided appropriately into their potential with genuine, heart-led and integral guides, who can see them for all of their magic.

So how do sensitives find this kind of support when what is currently available can barely fathom the intricacies of their complex nature? Where are these heart-led guides? Well, they are actually more accessible than you might think, however taking a different approach to growth and healing your wounds may be the key in order to find them...

In previous blogs, I have touched on a subset of holistic therapies and gentle, subtle energy healing systems and modalities that come with this approach. In all of its varieties, holistic therapy is an avenue in which sensitive souls can develop personally in a safe space, which celebrates their complexities, honours their sensitivity, their individuality and while supporting the unconventionality of their life goals. It is a perfect platform for these deep-feeling individuals to learn how to tend to the sensitive expressions of their inner world and consciously create an exceptional life for themselves.

Like any therapist however, it is recommended that sensitive souls find holistic therapists they feel comfortable with, and who honours their sense of autonomy and supports their personal path.
